GINGER & FIG SPRITZ
Happy almost Thanksgiving everyone! If you’re looking for some seasonal Fall cocktails to add to your list, this one should be on it! And if you’re not a huge fan of gin, it’s easy to substitute the gin for vodka.
GINGER & FIG SPRITZ
Yield: Serves 1
Ingredients:
4-5 fresh figs
1.5 oz gin
.5 oz homemade ginger simple syrup*
0.5 oz fresh lemon juice
Club soda, chilled
Fresh figs and rosemary sprigs for garnish
Instructions:
In a cocktail shaker, muddle the figs. Add gin, ginger syrup, lemon juice and ice. Shake vigorously. Pour over small strainer to remove fig seeds and add to a cocktail glasses filled with ice.
Top with club soda. Garnish with fresh figs and rosemary sprig.
*To make ginger syrup:
In a small saucepan on medium heat, combine 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water. Stir constantly until the sugar is dissolved. Add 1 cup peeled, sliced ginger and bring the syrup to a light boil.
Cover, reduce heat, and allow to simmer for about 10 minutes. Remove from the heat and allow to cool.
Combine 1 cup granulated sugar, 1 cup water and 1 cup sliced peeled fresh ginger root.
